The Bahama Backroads
Villa rental cottage is very private, ideal for a family or
group with outdoor recreation or total relaxation in mind.

If you are looking for an unspoiled tropical environment
to unwind from a hectic lifestyle, the Bahama Backroads villa in the Abaco
chain of the Bahamas offers the ultimate destination. Located on two secluded
acres filled with lush tropical flora, the villa features panoramic sunrise
views of the ocean on one side of the house and spectacular sunsets over
the bay on the backside. The two-story,
two-bedroom house (formerly known as Club Kirwin) comfortably sleeps
up to six people and features a complete kitchen. The primary source of
power is a state-of-the-art solar power system and a back up generator.
With screened porch and sun deck
this waterfront location offers a supremely relaxed environment. The facilities
of the Bahama Backroads Villa property makes it one of a kind in the Bahamas.
The villa features exclusive use of the private tennis court, private dock
and a private beach. On top of that the house comes with two sea kayaks
and three bicycles. Wind surfing equipment is optional.
Indeed, recreational activities are the hallmark of this
very special rental villa. The most obvious outlet is the tennis court.
The surface is Plushtex, which is a rubberized hard court that is as forgiving
on the knees as a clay court. Besides the tennis court, there is also a
basketball court.
But with so much sparkling, crystal clear blue sea surrounding
the house and miles of shallow bonefish flats, it is a must to get out on
the water and explore. Numerous reefs, including a protected underwater
marine reserve, offer superb snorkeling and scuba diving activities. There
are also miles of mangroves that make for fascinating days of sea-kayaking,
birding or even flyfishing for mutton snapper, bonefish and other aggressive
fish species.
As well, there's no better way to spend a breezy afternoon
windsurfing. Robinson's Bight, a huge flats bay behind the house, gives
beginners, experts and all those in between, all levels of challenge. Of
course, anglers from around the world know these waters for the challenge
they provide with a rod and reel instead of a board and sail.
From the private, protected dock, it is possible to be
out in some of the most bountiful sailfishing waters in the Caribbean within
10 minutes. Besides marlin (catch and release please!), there are wahoo,
tuna and mahi-mahi that will test the skills of any experienced angler -
especially one looking for saltwater action on a fly rod. But for the beginner
there are numerous local guides who can get you started - no matter what
tackle you want to use.
For anglers who take the occasional fish for the table
the villa provides a barbecue gas grill on the porch for preparing your
fresh fish.
