Local Abaco
Island Interests
|
 | A walk along the tropical beaches of Abaco Island can be a step backwards into history. |

What to do?
Everything!
The famous five-mile ride
by bicycle to the village of Cherokee is becoming legendary. Cherokee is a
community spawned by a shipwreck more than a hundred years ago.
If you want to visit a throwback to the days when island life was truly cut off from the hustle and bustle of a TV-saturated world, Cherokee is a must. Obviously, for some the idea of a tropical vacation is all about lounging. There are no better places to do this from than the dock or the screened porch
of your rental villa. Relaxing with a book after a swim from the small pier is a morning or afternoon delight.
Office? What office? |
 | Cherokee, located just five miles from the Bahamas Backroad Villa, is a small village where life revolves around the sea. It's a great place for a bicycle excursion. |
